ODM Should Not Lecture Us on How to Run Government

MP Zaheer Jhanda tells ODM to stop lecturing the government on governance, urging leaders to focus on development instead of politics.

Zaheer Jhanda Slams ODM Over Criticism

Nyaribari Chache MP Zaheer Jhanda has told off the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) for what he terms as “unwarranted lectures” on governance. Speaking during a rally in Kisii County, the vocal legislator said the opposition lacks the moral authority to advise the current administration.

According to Jhanda, ODM leaders had their time in government and failed to deliver on key promises. He urged them to step back and allow the Kenya Kwanza government to implement its development agenda without unnecessary interference.

Kenya Kwanza Leaders Defend Administration’s Performance

Jhanda’s remarks come at a time when several ODM politicians have been openly criticizing the government’s handling of key issues such as the economy, taxation, and public service delivery. In response, Jhanda said the ruling coalition is working around the clock to stabilize the economy and uplift ordinary Kenyans.

“The opposition should focus on offering constructive ideas, not daily noise,” he said. He added that the government is already rolling out infrastructure projects and job creation programs across counties.

Calls for Unity and Political Maturity

The MP called on all leaders, regardless of party, to prioritize national unity over political grandstanding. He warned that constant political attacks distract from the real work of service delivery.

Jhanda emphasized that the country needs peace, focus, and mutual respect among political actors. He urged ODM leaders to channel their energy into meaningful engagements instead of press conferences and public confrontations.

Public Reactions Reflect Divided Opinions

Jhanda’s comments have triggered mixed reactions across the political divide. Supporters of the Kenya Kwanza alliance praised him for standing firm and defending the government. On the other hand, ODM loyalists accused him of dismissing genuine concerns raised by citizens and opposition leaders.

Some Kenyans believe political maturity requires dialogue, not rivalry. Civil society groups have also urged both sides to tone down their rhetoric and seek common ground on national matters.

Focus Must Shift to Development, Not Politics

The MP reaffirmed that the Kenya Kwanza government will continue delivering on its promises regardless of opposition noise. He mentioned ongoing development projects in Kisii, including roads, health centers, and youth empowerment programs.

Jhanda also hinted that the next few months would see more engagement with local leaders and community groups to ensure grassroots needs are met.
